Gyotoku Koji's teachers and coaches were only able to see the "paved" team in Group B, but played hard and bravery to defeat Thailand's Under-18s 4-3. Not only that, in the match to decide the fate of the host, Cambodia's U18 defeated Vietnam U18 with a score of 2-1, making coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his teachers bitter from the group stage.

Returning from that historical victory, the Cambodian U18 team received a solemn reception from the Football Federation of Chua Thap. Chairman of the Cambodian Football Federation - General Sao Sokha congratulated the achievements of defeating the two strongest teams of ASEAN, Thailand and Vietnam, of Cambodia's U18.
