South Korea U23 cancel the private match with Saudi Arabia

The private match between the two teams was canceled due to weather conditions.

Currently, South Korea U23 team manager Kim Hak Bum and his players were in Malaysia to prepare for the AFC U23 Championship campaign. Initially, they intended to play two private matches with Saudi Arabia U23 and Australia U23 to evaluate the quality of his players.

However, the first game against Saudia Arabia was canceled because of weather conditions in Malaysia. A few hours before starting the match, it was heavily rained at Shah Alam Stadium, making two teams unable to properly play.

Consequently, South Korea would have only one game against Australia U23 team to evaluate their players. As planned, the match would proceed on January 3rd.

After that, manager Kim Hak Bum and his players would move to Thailand to compete at AFC U23 Championship, in which they were drawn into Group C with Uzbekistan, China, and Iran.

Their goal was to win one of the third leading places at the competition to qualify for the 2020 Olympics men's football event.

Initially, South Korea U23 wanted to call up some players who were playing at European clubs namely Hwang Hee Chan, Paik Seung Ho, and Lee Kang In to strengthen the team.

However, their plan failed because those teams did not agree to let their players leave for playing for the U23 team.
