LOSERS: CFA revokes the privilege of China U23 team players

After being eliminated at the group stage of the 2020 AFC U23 Championship, China U23 players lost the privilege set for national team members.

According to the Chinese Football Association (CFA) officials, they believe in the China U23 team to advance to the semi-finals of the 2020 AFC U23 Championship.

Consequently, they did not plan to book the flight ticket for all team members until next week, when the semi-final matches kicked off.

However, that plan collapsed when China U23 team was eliminated in the 2020 AFC U23 Championship earlier than they thought, losing back-to-back games against South Korea and Uzbekistan U23 teams.

"We are completely disappointed by those results", said a CFA official, which made them decide to revoke the privilege of China U23 team players.

Normally, China U23 team members will return to their countries by business-class flight tickets as they did when they came to Thailand for a few days ago.

However, due to the failure of the team in the 2020 AFC U23 Championship, CFA only bought the economy-class flight tickets for their players. CFA believed by doing that, they wanted players to know the shame of losers, which helped them work harder to achieve better results in the future.

However, it will be very difficult with the current situation of Chinese football, when Chinese Super League clubs paid too much money for low-quality players. As a result, Chinese national football teams could not improve their results in international competitions despite wasting a huge amount of money to hire foreign coaches.
