BREAKING: Banned from hosting games, FOUR Iranian clubs withdraw from AFC Champions League

Recently, four Iranian clubs announced that they would withdraw from the 2020 AFC Champions League after they were banned from hosting international matches in their country.

According to AFC officials, they will ban Iran from hosting any international games in 2020. That decision was issued because of the unstable situation in Iran, after they accidentally stroke a Ukrainian plane, killing more than 170 people on the board.

Moreover, the Middle East country was being in international conflict with the United States, which caused more troubles in the region.

Speaking about forcing Iran to organize all international matches in a third country, AFC officials said that was the best option for players to avoid being hit by military attacks.

After hearing about that embargo, Iran threatened to ask four Iranian clubs to withdraw from the 2020 AFC Champions League, and they did as they had told before.

In terms of clubs, they agreed with that demand, saying that they would not play if they did not have the advantage to play at their home venue. It was a strong message from Iranian officials, consequently, AFC will find a way to resolve that problem.

Giving the chance for Southeast Asian clubs may be an option, however, they should make the situation clearly. Four Iranian clubs, including Esteghlal Tehran, have competed in the AFC Champions League for many years, and their disappearance may affect the tournament.
