Japan Grand Prix 2019 qualifier is postponed to Sunday

To avoid storms, the Japanese GP classification round on Saturday, October 12th was moved to Sunday, October 13th.

All sports racing activities on October 12th are delayed for the safety of spectators and riders. Qualifying round (Q) will take place at 09:00 (GMT+8) on October 13th, while the main race (Race) starts at 13:10 the same day. The third test lap (FP3) is canceled.

The last time Q and Race took place on the same day was at the 2015 American Grand Prix in Austin. At that time, both FP2 and FP3 were canceled, leaving the teams with little information to plan the tactics for the race.

Today 11/10, FP1 and FP2 take place with the dominance of Mercedes. Valtteri Bottas was the fastest in both races, followed by teammate Lewis Hamilton. At FP1, Ferrari's two SF90s are only slower than the W10. At FP2, Max Verstappen rose to third place, pushing Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc down one notch. Thai racer Alexander Albon came in sixth. In the lower group, Carlos Sainz (McLaren) continues to assert his talent with the seventh place.

Suzuka race track with many tight corners requires cars with good aerodynamic structure. This is the strength of Mercedes and Red Bull, while Ferrari needs improvement to be competitive. Engineers will have two days to work, before entering the qualifying round.
