Italia eliminates 5 players from the 2019 FIBA World Cup training list

All the NBA players remain in the squad of coach Meo Sacchetti for the upcoming 2019 FIBA World Cup training list.

Coach Meo Sacchetti has shortened the Italian team's prepared training list for 2019 FIBA World Cup to 19 players. Compared to the previous list, 5 players lost the chance to compete in China.

Among those eliminated are 4 domestic players Achille Pollonara of Dinamo Sassari, Stefano Tonut of Reyer Venezia, Davide Pascolo and Diego Flaccadori of Trento. The only foreign player to be played is Diego Flaccadori of Texas Technical University in the United States.

There are no surprises in Italy's new list when the brightest stars are retained. The NBA duo Marco Belinelli and Danilo Gallinari are expected to be the leaders of the pasta team, alongside Amadeo Della Valle playing very prominently in the qualifiers.

At 2019 FIBA World Cup, Italy will be in Group D, encountering world champions of Serbia, the Philippines and Angola. They need to stand in one of the top two positions to move on to the next round and hope to win the championship.

This is the first time after 13 years, Italy has just returned to the world championship arena. In Japan in 2006, the pasta team stopped in front of Literature in the eighth round. Italy has not stood on the podium yet since the 2004 Olympic Silver medal.
